There are several reason why your status light would be flashing red. The best way to determine the specific reason for your flashing light is to use the WAVE Mobile or Desktop application while connected to your device.
The Unit Has Not Been Registered:
Please be sure to download the WAVE app available here.... if you haven't already and register your Cel-Fi.
Please note: You will need a reliable internet connection to be able to do this. If you do not have access to a reliable internet connection then please ask your reseller to register the unit on your behalf prior to installation or delivery.
No Signal:
The Cel-Fi GO cannot receive a Signal from the network, or is unable to connect to a tower.
The Cel-Fi GO will only boost a signal if there is some signal at the external antenna.
Go to the external antenna with your phone and check for signal there.
If there is no signal then the antenna or your vehicle needs to be moved to a place with some signal.
Please note: The Cel-Fi GO system requires a minimum of -104dB of 3G signal or -120dB of 4G signal to connect to the network. However, this value can change depending on the gain of the antenna you use. For example, if you are using a 14db high gain Yagi antenna with no signal loss this would mean your minimum 3G signal strength required would now be -128db. Powertec strongly recommends only using a Powertec approved antenna to make sure you are getting the optimal results from your installation.
Signal Too Strong:
Yes, the signal can be too strong.
You may be too close to a cell tower or your antennas may be too close. Try moving your external and/or internal antenna to an alternative location.
Antennas Too Close:
The indoor and outdoor antennas are too close together. Try moving them further apart to help isolate them by having a roof or wall in between.
